RAFAEL TORRES CUECO
Rafael Torres Cueco is a graduate in Physiotherapy and holds a degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology, as well as a Diploma of Advanced Studies. He is a PhD candidate in Neuroscience.
He is an Associate Professor at the University of Valencia. President and founder of the Spanish Society of Physiotherapy and Pain (SEFID). Member of the Spanish Society of Craneomandibular Disfunction and Orofacial Pain SEDCYDO.
His main interest focuses on the application of advances in neuroscience in the treatment of chronic pain. He teaches postgraduate courses at different universities, on clinical handling of spine pain, temporomandibular dysfunction and orofacial pain as well as chronic pain handling.
Rafael Torres is the introducer in Spain of education in neuroscience and biopsychosocial handling in the treatment of pain, on top of being an instructor at the Neuro-Orthopaedic Institute (NOI).
He has published 2 books: La Columna cervical: Evaluación Clínica y Aproximaciones Terapéuticas [The Cervical Spine: Clinical Evaluation and Therapeutic Approaches] (2008), and La Columna Cervical: Síndromes Clínicos y su Tratamiento Manipulativo [The Cervical Spine: Clinical Syndromes and their Manipulative Treatment] (2008). He is also the author of several book chapters on the treatment of chronic pain.
He is Director of the Master in Advanced Manipulative Techniques and Structural Osteopathy (University of Valencia), and provides post-graduate training at different universities, on clinical handling of spine pain, temporomandibular dysfunction and orofacial pain, and chronic pain handling applying neuroscience and biopsicosocial paradigm advances.
