His research has focused primarily on classification based on the mechanisms of chronic low-back pain. He has published several articles and presented the results of his research at several international congresses. He has also taught a number of international clinical courses on the treatment of chronic low-back pain.
During this International Workshop Wim Dankaerts will explain the importance of subclassifying the patient with lumbar disorders. We will be shown an approximation based on O'Sullivan's classification.
Diagnosis and treatment rely on the patient's motor-functional learning together with cognitive-behavioural strategies. Wim Dankaerts will show us the latest therapeutic evidence behind this approach and how to apply it clinically.
